I'm pretty pleased with the tea cups the feet are improving. Last night i worked on a couple bowls and a platter, here is a picture of the bowls before i dropped one in the slip bucket. Anyways i'm going to fire these next weekend along other stuff, so more updates soon

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_NpnB5bv6u5Y/S1h-b1d_mBI/AAAAAAAAACs/d47jUlrrsao/s200/P1010049.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5429228367469582354" />
<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_NpnB5bv6u5Y/S1h-bgnzNbI/AAAAAAAAACk/trjzAwQ7i54/s200/P1010048.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5429228361873569202" />
<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_NpnB5bv6u5Y/S1h-bElbBgI/AAAAAAAAACc/UbocrTA-3to/s200/P1010046.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5429228354347402754" />
<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_NpnB5bv6u5Y/S1h-a2_XfqI/AAAAAAAAACU/Ay5NCKcUFQg/s200/P1010045.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5429228350698127010" />Corbin Websterhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06954568030110868022noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7183458647296528825.post-31767348663320970042010-01-16T15:05:00.000-08:002010-01-16T15:09:26.912-08:00Dead Camera BatteriesI went to the school tonight to get some recent pictures of work, but when i went to use my camera it was dead. I have been keeping my self busy with books and podcasts. I cant wait to get back in the studio i have a tons of new glazes and flashing slip recipes to try out. Plus a notebook full of sketches of new forms, i've found myself referring to Clary Illian's book A Potters Workbook almost daily, in my opinion it has been one of the most inspirational books i have read. I've also been looking at alot of other potters pots here are a few of my favorites.

Corbin Websterhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06954568030110868022noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7183458647296528825.post-32107091598026542922009-12-26T14:53:00.000-08:002009-12-26T14:57:28.528-08:00New HandBuilt WorkI've been working on little flask type bottles, and i made a teapot for fun too.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_NpnB5bv6u5Y/SzaUvQcwapI/AAAAAAAAACM/7xb8A8hNHPg/s320/P1010038.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5419682741177313938" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_NpnB5bv6u5Y/SzaUvBuMgII/AAAAAAAAACE/cFxXDcs7yXA/s320/P1010042.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5419682737223925890" />

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_NpnB5bv6u5Y/SzaUTTeURtI/AAAAAAAAAB8/eeZIjYxUYQU/s320/P1010039.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5419682260952827602" />
These bottles currently have a Mark Peters Black Slip on themCorbin Websterhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06954568030110868022noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7183458647296528825.post-58779338528551178842009-12-26T14:48:00.000-08:002009-12-26T14:53:29.364-08:00<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_NpnB5bv6u5Y/SzaTjzVsc5I/AAAAAAAAAB0/OuerYCINrF0/s320/P1010034.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5419681444872876946" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_NpnB5bv6u5Y/SzaTjb5nFSI/AAAAAAAAABs/a-Boh3ZeOGc/s320/P1010031.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5419681438581069090" />
Here i a set bowls i used helmars slip on and a little bit of wood ash, fired in a soda kiln. I won't be a ble to have acess to a wheel, so i will be working on lots of handbuilding projects. pictures of progress should come soonCorbin Websterhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06954568030110868022noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7183458647296528825.post-4805664270353157812009-12-14T17:30:00.000-08:002009-12-14T17:36:53.828-08:00Art?What is craft? what is art? some attribute Peter Volkous to breaking the boundaries between art and craft ceramics, but where does that leave the artist who makes art in the idealism of craft? When people ask me why i want to be a studio potter the only answer i can give them is, i want to make functional objects that a person can enjoy everyday. i do not believe that functional ceramics should be purchased as a decorative piece to only be viewed. I believe that functional ceramics should be used everyday, because they were created to be part of your everyday life.Corbin Websterhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06954568030110868022noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7183458647296528825.post-83224470850335151212009-12-13T09:25:00.000-08:002009-12-13T09:30:07.266-08:00<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_NpnB5bv6u5Y/SyUkHsuqhNI/AAAAAAAAABk/UhEbpilkjj0/s320/P1010025.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5414773841667458258" />
<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_NpnB5bv6u5Y/SyUkGyJKGnI/AAAAAAAAABc/0S9F1ZTeexU/s320/P1010029.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5414773825940888178" />
<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_NpnB5bv6u5Y/SyUkGq-sV8I/AAAAAAAAABU/3H9tWHc3VGU/s320/P1010022.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5414773824017946562" />
Here's a couple of my latest works out of a gas soda kiln.
